Visual Artist & Muralist - Currently working in Las Vegas, NV
Eric Vozzola, a 30-year-old Las Vegas native, lives and works in his hometown as a fine artist, a muralist, and graphic designer. Eric received a BFA in graphic design and studio art from UNLV in 2011. He is currently a senior designer for an award-winning in-house creative team at The Venetian Las Vegas, lead designer for the art-forward ocean conservation non-profit, PangeaSeed Foundation, as well as a working artist from his home studio in Downtown Las Vegas (alongside his dog, Kismet).
Eric’s ultimate goal with his work is to create a symbiotic relationship between art and design. Exploring a variety of media and visual motifs, Eric works in painting, drawing, digital media, and installation. His visual language ranges from the balance of abstract patterns and intersections of color, to textural landscapes and surreal environments. Eric allows his studio artwork and mural work to be continuously inspired by his graphic design background, and vise versa. His love for music, his surrounding natural world, his travels, and his curiosity of the human condition remain as common threads in his work. Fascinated with such artists as John Baldessari, Ellsworth Kelly, Ed Ruscha, Stephen Hendee, and Barry McGee – as well as growing up drawing and skateboarding in the 90’s – Eric continues to develop his bold aesthetic and his life as an artist.
Vozzola has exhibited in solo and group shows locally and nationally, including most recently, Low Res (solo) at Whitney Library Gallery in Las Vegas, NV, Surreal Salon 9 at Baton Rouge Gallery in Baton Rouge, LA, Landscapes at Las Laguna Gallery in Laguna Beach, CA, A Visual Language (Solo) at Winchester Cultural Center Gallery in Las Vegas, NV. His fourth local solo show, this time at his alma mater of UNLV, and his first national solo show, being held in Austin, TX, are on the horizon for 2018.
Eric has multiple public art pieces in Las Vegas, including murals for Life Is Beautiful Festival in 2016 and 2015, a full building mural with the Cultural Corridor Coalition and City of Las Vegas, utility box murals in different parts of the Vegas Valley for ZAP7 and ZAP9 with Clark County, and private murals for local businesses and collectors.
