Part of the “In The Woods” Series of six (6) new original paintings; these pieces all relate to each other through natural wood found somewhere in the finished piece, whether on a panel or framed in wood. Myself and my family are avid lovers of the outdoors, and especially camping, so I’ve had many an opportunity to contemplate life and art in one of my favorite places – ‘in the woods.’ These pieces all utilize a similar contrasting color palette, in mainly black and white with minimal color embellishments. An interesting little series for me in concept and execution, focusing less on color, and more on contrast, simplicity, and the juxtaposition of clean, hard edges, with loose heavily organic and textured elements.
