A fun experiment with multi-dimensional canvases and how the painting surface teeters the line between framing element and element within the artwork. For this piece I wanted to keep a minimal approach, focusing on texture, shape, negative space, and balancing organic with geometric. The first of future trials with series along the same contemporary approach. Titled “Everything is Illuminated” as a metaphor for life itself when we look within and analyze ourselves, as well as within the work itself, illuminating a majority of the themes I apply across all of my works.
